It's All About RESPECT
"It's all about RESPECT," is an initiative begun January 2003 by Public Safety. "RESPECT" - a continuous improvement project - fortifies the RIT culture, embracing safety throughout the community. To share the messages of "RESPECT," we seek opportunities through awareness, education and voluntary compliance that will improve safety practices at RIT.
We envision "RESPECT" as the launching point for all safety-related initiatives at RIT. For example, through the efforts of Risk Management and Safety Services (RMSS), as well as Facilities Management Services (FMS), new raised pedestrian crosswalks, flashing lights that alert all to crosswalks, and signage that better illuminates the message of a crosswalk ahead have been installed.
As a member of our community you can assist by practicing sound personal safety habits.
Public Safety Officer Phil Goodwin coordinates the RESPECT Program and can provide further informational assistance at staff meetings, floor meetings, etc. He can be reached at 475-7848 (475-6654 TTY) or by e-mail.
