Reference Checks

The Institute's position is to provide minimal information regarding the employment background of former employees. Information regarding former employees is released in the following way:
The Human Resources Office should be considered the official source of past employment information. Members of the Human Resources Office will release the following information: dates of employment, the position the former employee held and, for voluntary terminations, the reason the employee resigned from the university. Individuals outside the department of Human Resources should forward all reference check requests to Human Resources.
RIT does not provide official letters of reference. Individuals who are providing letters of reference for current or former RIT faculty or staff should not submit one on official Institute letterhead.
