Discrimination Charges Filed with External Compliance Agency

Processing Equal Employment Opportunity charges filed by applicants or employees with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, or state or local compliance or human relations agencies.

RIT is committed to resolving complaints of discrimination in a manner fair to the applicant or employee and to the Institute. Fact finding, reporting, and decision making must be thorough, candid, and fair. Investigative reports will be based upon objective facts and not upon speculation.

Procedure

Communication

Since litigation may result from complainant's dissatisfaction with RIT's decision on the merits of their case, all documents related to the charge are privileged information. Copies are made and distributed only as essential to resolve the case.

Responsibilities

An investigation of charges may begin pursuant to a written request from the compliance agency, and the investigation will be carried out by appropriate Human Resources Office staff and a written report will be made in ten days by those charged with investigatory responsibility.
