Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Applies To: All Regular Employees
RIT recognizes that certain factors may interfere with an employee's effective performance, including attendance. These problems may be caused by physical or psychological illness, alcohol or drug abuse, family concerns or financial problems. The Health Association's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is RIT's partner for assistance and is designed as a confidential resource available to employees.
Procedure
Employee

May contact The Health Association directly and confidentially as follows:

- EAP@TheHealthAssociation.org
OR
Supervisor
- Identifies behavior, performance or attendance problem
- Discusses the issues with the employee
- Seeks advice from The Health Association or Human Resources Services Manager (HRSM)
- Recommends EAP or mandates EAP as a condition of continued employment
EAP at The Health Association
- Meets with employee and recommends source for treatment
- Communicates with supervisor the course of action, only in the case of mandated supervisory referral
- Advises HRSM when appropriate
