Welcome
Here are some valuable resources that you should utilize to ensure your new employee has a productive and successful orientation to RIT. You are encouraged to plan a two-day agenda for the new employee, so that they know what to expect during their first few days of employment. A check list is also provided to keep your efforts organized. Sample Two-day Agenda; Sample Checklist.
Many of these tasks can and should be completed prior to the new employee's start date. We recommend that you look for work space as soon as a new position is approved. Not all of these steps will be necessary, depending on the specific situation (i.e. new position vs. replacement position). Before you get started, be sure to contact the departmental coordinator (if available) who may handle many of these requests for your department.
For more information please visit the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) or you can email questions/comments to onboard@rit.edu.
