Diversifying the Faculty

Current Openings

Individuals applying for a faculty position are encouraged to apply myCareer.rit.edu and must complete an application in order to be considered for employment at RIT. External applicants should upload the appropriate credentials online or send them directly to the contact person identified in the posting.

Posted positions are updated continuously and a summary of new positions is communicated weekly via e-mail to all faculty and staff.

General Employment Requirements by College

Each of our colleges has slightly different requirements for faculty positions:

College of Science

To be a viable candidate for a tenure-track position in the College of Science, a Post Doctoral is generally needed.

College of Applied Science and Technology

To be a viable candidate for an opening in the College of Applied Science and Technology, three to five years of industry experience is generally needed in the area of engineering technology.

College of Business

To be a viable candidate for an opening in the College of Business, a PhD from an AACSB accredited institution is needed.

College of Imaging Arts and Sciences

To be a viable candidate for an opening in the College of Imaging Arts & Science, an MFA is needed. CIAS also generally requests at least 20 portfolio items, at least 20 examples of studio work by your students, and sample syllabi to be presented.
