Saddle Stitch (booklet making) - C
- Bound by staples along the folded edge, most commonly used for magazines, catalogs, newsletters
- Heavier paper stocks must be scored to fold
- Difficult to mix paper stocks on inside
- # of pages is on inside in multiples of 4 and limited
Comb Binding - CR
- A continous spring-shaped piece of plastic
- Durable crush-resistant
- Allows a bound book to lay flat or back on itself for easy reading
- You can mix paper stocks
- Leave at least a half inch for binding
- Good for reference books, cook books
Tape Binding - CR
- A durable cloth tape fused to the document along the edge forming the spine
- Known for its strength and permanence
- Leave at least a half inch for binding
- Feel free to mix paper colors
- Similar to a paperback book
- Good for thick legal, official, & academic documents
Velo Binding - CR
- A hard plastic strip binds the pages making the edge rigid but thicker on one side - keep this in mind for stacking
- Papers can be mixed
- Leave atleast a half inch for binding
- Most commonly used for legal documents
Hole Drill / Punching - CR
- Holes punched or drilled for ring binders
- Requires hand insertion into binders
- Great for updating, changing documents - add to, mix, or change order of contents after inserting
