Oracle On-Demand Technical Information & FAQ
Oracle On-Demand Upgrade
As a result of an upgrade, users will be required to install the newest version of J-Initiator (1.3.1.26) in order to access Oracle financial applications. FAST users have already had this upgrade installed; however, those outside of the realm of FAST support will have to install the upgrade. If you are a user who has administrative privileges, you will be automatically prompted to download and install the latest version of J-Initiator when you click on one of your responsibilities within Oracle.
If you are a user without administrative privileges, please contact your systems administrator for assistance.
Systems Administrators:
There are two installers available for download from F&A:

Frequently Asked Questions
After installing j-initiator, the browser comes up but closes immediately with no error messages.
- One issue maybe that DEP has been turned on. DEP (Data Execution Prevention) is a set of hardware and software technologies that perform additional checks on memory to help prevent malicious code from running on a system. In this case, DEP only needs to be turned off for javaw.exe and iexplorer.exe. This is not the perfect solution and RIT is working with Oracle to correct this issue.
