TIGER BUCKS

Tiger Bucks is accepted at many on and off campus venues.

Tiger Bucks is a campus debit account at that is accessed through the Rochester Institute of Technology's ID card.

Deposit money into this account for use throughout the academic year. Whenever you make a purchase using your card, the purchase amount will be deducted from your available balance.

A Tiger Bucks account reduces the need to carry cash or a checkbook for everyday purchases, especially food. Your picture ID protects your money from theft by preventing the use of your card by someone else. Even in the vending machines, a precautionary $10 daily limit restricts the use of a lost or stolen card.

Tiger Bucks are accepted for purchases at many RIT areas including off campus locations. For example, at the Barnes & Noble @ RIT Tiger Bucks may be used to for any purchase including textbooks, art supplies, clothing, greeting cards, or college memorabilia.

In addition to food and bookstore purchases, Tiger Bucks may be used to buy a gift certificate, a birthday cake for a campus friend, treat a visitor to a delicious meal, or a scoop of your favorite flavor ice cream at Ben & Jerry's.

Absolutely! You'll be lost at RIT without the flexibility of this account!

Deposits

To make a deposit, students should use the RIT portal or eServices; parents should use eServices or call (585) 475-2228 (V/TTY) or toll free at 1-800-724-5104, (M- F 8a.m. - 4:30p.m.); and faculty and staff should use the RIT portal or enroll in direct payroll deposit (log-in and then click on the "financial" tab). These accounts are updated (real time) so you may see your balance at anytime.

Accounts may also be opened in person at the Dining Services Office (A520 Student Alumni Union) or Student Financial Services (1st floor Eastman Building) with your check or credit card for the amount you wish to deposit in to your Tiger Bucks account. Simply fill out the Tiger Bucks Deposit form and bring it with you. The amount you choose to deposit should fill your own anticipated needs. Average spending is about $600/year for faculty, and staff uses approximately $1000 on campus a year for meals, beverages, and gifts. The typical RIT student needs about $800/year for books and supplies. There is a $5 minimum deposit. Tiger Bucks is subject to the terms and conditions of the Tiger Bucks Agreement.
