Resident Meal Plans
Entering freshmen and students residing in the residence halls must select a meal plan on their housing contract and may choose one of the four flexible meal plans described below.
2011 - 2012 Resident Meal Plan Rates
| Meal Plan | Meals per week | Meal Options Per Week | Debit Per Quarter | Total Plan Cost Per Quarter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ultra Meal Plan | Unlimited Meals at Gracie's | 5 meals at any Dining area | $0 | $1,613 |
| Any 14 Plus | 14 meals at Gracie's | 5 meals at any Dining area | $97 | $1,439 |
| Any 12 Plus | 12 meals at Gracie's | 5 meals at any Dining area | $249 | $1,439 |
| Any 10 Plus | 10 meals at Gracie's | 5 meals at any Dining area | $400 | $1,439 |
Meal Options
Included in the set number of weekly meals (14, 12, 10) and the Ultra Meal Plan, are five meal options that may be used in any Dining Services’ area other than Gracie’s. For example, if you have the 14 Plus meal plan, five of the 14 meals may be eaten in other dining service areas and are valued at $6.90. Simply ask the cashier to use a meal option when paying for a meal. If your meal costs more than the $6.90, you pay the difference with cash, debit, Visa/MasterCard, or Tiger Bucks.
Debit
You may add money to the debit account at any time throughout the year. Deposits may be made online at eservices.rit.edu or in person with cash, check, or credit card at Student Financial Services (University Services Center). If choosing the Ultra Meal Plan, adding a debit account is optional, but encouraged to purchase snacks, grocery items, and beverages.
Rollover Debit
When a meal plan is purchased, Dining Services will roll-over up to $57.56 of your debit balance from fall and winter quarters, adding it to the next quarter’s beginning debit amount. There will be no roll-over at the end of the spring quarter, so plan to spend the entire balance by that date. A refund of unused debit money is only available if 1) you withdraw from the university (graduation does not constitute withdrawal); or 2) you incur an academic or disciplinary dismissal.

What mom's say about the Ultra Meal Plan:
"This is the best possible fit for our son!! He has always been one who would rather graze his way through the day. He feels best and works best when able to do so. This plan allows him to do just that!! This plan also allows him to plan his meals at times that work conveniently around his classes. He has one class that coincides with lunch and another that comes at supper time. With the Ultra meal plan neither of these is a problem!! Thank you so much for designing such a wonderful program. We couldn't be more happy. It is a big relief for me to know that my son who is over eight hours from home, and away from home for the first time in his life, has this basic need so well met." --- Rosalie B. Mosher
Debit Plans
If you are a(n):
- Upper-classman (second year status or higher), Transfer, or Graduate student residing in RIT housing (apartments, University Commons, Global Village, and approved Greek housing)

NOTE: Upper-classman (second year status or higher), Transfer, or Graduate student residing in the residence halls and the RIT Inn may only select the All Debit Plan or one of the residential meal plans, and are not eligible for Debit Plans 1, 2, and 3. For fall term only, entering freshmen whose credit hours rise above first-year status (due to AP credit or college courses taken in high school) are still considered first-year students and may not select the All Debit Plan. The All Debit Plan may be selected, however, beginning winter term.
