Personal Success Series

This intense series will introduce participants to the concept of personal leadership and assist them in developing a leadership vision and action plan to improve their skills for success in the future.

Participants will identify and evaluate frameworks for successful leadership and learn critical skills and strategies that will enable them to achieve success in their personal and professional lives; no matter what their discipline may be.

This three-session series will focus on…

These workshops are designed to be interactive, experiential and FUN! They will assist participants in developing professional relationships and network with other faculty and staff.

To obtain a Personal Success Skills Certificate, you must register for and attend all three sessions. The cost for this series is $125.00. Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation letter containing payment information.

Session #1 Introduction to Course, Values, Decision Making and Interpersonal Communications

In this session, you will be introduced to key course concepts, participate in an exercise and discussion on values and decision making. You will also complete your DISC assessment. The DISC is a behavioral model which examines an individual’s behavioral style and preference within their environment or within a specific situation. DISC is an acronym for:

Session #2 Interpersonal Communications, Part 2

This session will assess your DISC results. Upon completion of this session, you will understand the significance and the impact the DISC has on communication, leading and developing relationships. You will be able to identify both your own strengths and weaknesses using your DISC pattern, as well as others strengths and weaknesses. You will also develop strategies for effectively communicating, leading, and working with variety of people and their different behavior patterns.

Session #3 Leadership, Emotional Intelligence and the Personal Success Action Plan

This session will teach the definition of emotional intelligence and help you to understand your own strengths, weaknesses and strategies for improving your own emotional intelligence. You will also learn about The Five Practices of the Leadership Challenge. This will help you to create your leadership vision to understand what effective leadership is and give you all the necessary tools to complete a personal leadership action plan.
