Diversity Awareness: Where is my comfort zone?

Communities are becoming more diverse at work and at home. Employees need help in assessing their level of comfort with people who are different from themselves. The Diversity Awareness Workshop is designed to help people look honestly at themselves to identify general feelings of respect for and comfort with others, who are thought to be “different”. This session is the first step in building culture competence. The session helps participants assess the knowledge and pride for their own culture and race, as well as their comfort and respect for others. The Comfort Zone Assessment Tool allows the participant to explore their general feelings, and learn where they are in the culture competence journey, without a contrast to the responses of others.
