Healthier You

This 3-part session focuses on different areas of wellness to promote an overall healthier you. All three sessions must be taken sequentially.
Healthier You has been developed by the WEL in collaboration with the Better Me Employee Fitness Program and RIT’s Dining Services’ Registered Dietitian.
Session #1
Ergonomic session:
You may not realize how your job can affect your body, until you begin to feel the strain. Learn how to work by considering what is best for your body; that's what ergonomics is all about!
This session provides ergonomics awareness as well as tips to identify, control and prevent ergonomic risk factors at work and at home.

Session #2
Nutrition Session:
This session explores the United States Department of Agriculture's myPyramid recommendations for healthy eating. Included in this session is an overview of RIT's Dining Services NetNutrition website and how you can use it to eat healthier while on campus. Bring a laptop, if you have one available for internet exploration.

Session #3
Fitness Session:
In this session, participants are introduced to physical fitness. Beginning with a tour of the Student Life Center, (SLC,) participants have the opportunity to explore the different fitness opportunities and how to use some of the equipment. The importance of strength and cardio vascular training, common fitness misconceptions and exercises that can be performed at a work station are the main topics of discussion in this session.
