Fitness
Faculty and staff fitness is an important aspect of the RIT community. There are a variety of ways to improve your health and we hope that you’ll be able to explore them and find activities that meets your personal goals.
Better Me Employee Fitness Classes
Each quarter select classes are offered by the Better Me Employee Fitness Program. The Better Me Program offers a 'Better Me Bounce Pass' which may be used to attend any Better Me class during the quarter. Faculty and staff who have previously taken RIT classes may register through SIS. Those who have never taken an RIT class should complete a Registration Form or register at the Registrar's Office.
Participation in Better Me fitness programs is voluntary and participants assume all risks, known and unknown, inherent to exercise and workout programs and/or injuries which may result from participation in such activities. It is recommended that you consult with your personal physician before starting any exercise or fitness program.
Wellness Instructional Program Classes
These fitness classes are offered to faculty and staff by the Student Wellness Instructional Program and registration for these wellness classes begins after all students have registered for classes. For current list of these fitness classes, go to SIS, 'Open/Closed Courses', and scroll down to 1109 Fitness.
Personal Training
RIT is fortunate to have three personal trainers: Joe Delgado, Jacques-Luis Nodar, and Jake Blaydes who are available to assist faculty and staff in one-on-one or group sessions. Please contact them to make an appointment to discuss your needs.
RIT Student Life Center
All faculty and staff have free membership to the Student Life Center, a state-of-the-art fitness facility which includes the use of the Gordon Field House and Aquatics Center.

Fit It In
The Fit It In program was designed to help you fit in short bouts of exercise throughout your day, without disrupting your work or your routine. All you need is an exercise band and the series of 4 sets of exercises and instructions for how to do them. Each set of exercises takes no more than 5-10 minutes to accomplish, so you can fit them in at your desk or at home whenever it is convenient. Exercise bands can be found online or in sporting goods stores. Wal-Mart and Target both carry the bands as well. Click Here for more information on how to purchase them. Once you have your band, take advantage of the four week rotational exercise tips below.
